Darlinghurst Sky Home

Perfect Execution

A substantial luxury sky home close to Hyde Park, originally designed by the former Engelen Moore Architects was in need of significant renovation while paying respect to the modern design.

Varnished ash panelling that originally  dominated the entire apartment, was replaced with black or deep green panels that now contrast with the restored ash flooring, brought back to a natural finish.

Mooloolaba Canal Home

Coastal Luxe

Built in the same street as "Grandad's old place", this house is the dream build for a young family who grew up boating and swimming in the canal waterfront just metres from here.

With an Australian take on Brazillian Modernist architect Marcio Kogan's work, concrete, timber screens and ceiling features and glass will dominate, with a splash of unexpected colour to feature in the wet areas.

A dream project working with a local building designer on layout and external finishes, we selected all internal finishes including bathrooms and floor and ceiling materials, designed all the joinery and lighting, and procured furniture and window finishes.

Luxe Kitchen, Laundry & Joinery

Dark Luxe

Part of the broader Darlinghurst Sky Home, the joinery in this renovation was too good not to feature

Healthy Living

Another full scale renovation, which initially started from a consultation for advice on how to fix floating timber floors and a bathroom that had been damaged by water from elsewhere in the building.

Further investigation revealed a more significant water and mould issue, which was a major health risk for the owners.

This client likes bold constrasts…and we delivered with bold green kitchen and bathrooms.  And we fixed the mould issue with new carpets, paint, and extensive waterproofing.  A new functional laundry was created by removing the hot water system to an area outside the apartment to create more space.

Minyama Residence

Waterside Luxury

Designed for a retired couple who love the water, this project involved working closely with the clients (one with deteriorating sight), to design the floor plan and finishes that suited easy and independent living with a sight impairment.

From assistance with selection of the site to ensure the best outlook and aspect, to space flow and room layout/floor planning, and lastly interior finishes and furniture selection, this project spanned close to two years.

The resulting home is one of the most striking and iconic homes on the water on the Sunshine Coast (Queensland) and is adaptable to the changing needs of the clients.

North Sydney Apartment

Executive Haven

From 1980's concrete box with office-style suspended egg-crate ceilings, to slick but warm white contemporary haven from the city, this apartment captured views to the north over Neutral Bay and to the south of the iconic harbour bridge.

Accommodating the client's desire for "everything" to be white while ensuring the apartment didn't end up looking sterile, and including a butlers pantry and kitchen that could cope with a serious home cook, were the biggest challenges here.

The result was a luxurious but timeless space, and a significant improvement in property value at resale.

Annandale Warehouse

Jetset Partypad

An established warehouse in Annandale with an "empty" space was the challenge.

The overall concept for the warehouse was predominantly black and white, but the client also loved green and wanted to inject a highlight into the predominantly monochromatic space.

The well travelled client's brief was "make it like a fabulous hotel" bar that could be in New York or London.

The result is an entertaining space that finally looks complete and has been the focal point for many amazing parties since.

Blueys Beach Weekender

Retro Retreat

An escape for the owners from busy city careers and the occasional AirBnB guests, the brief for this 70s/80s beach house on the dunes at Boomerang/Blueys Beach was to create an eclectic and collected retro feel.

Weekend beach houses in Australia were always furnished with surplus furniture and collected items that no longer fit in the main house.

Taking that approach, the layering of vintage furniture items with the owners personal collection of artworks and affordable styling pieces always gets great reviews.
